TOXOPHILITE TALES . . . . . MARCH/APRIL  2010

PRESIDENT:

Outdoor season is just about done with; our Ultimae Experience our only outdoor tournament left this year.  We have had average to slightly above average tournament participation.

We have had several new members join the state and national organizations.  New shooters are always welcome and if you bring a new shooter we will get many more to join the organizations.

Indoor season will be starting up before you know it.  Check with Diamond Archery to see what leagues we will be having, please mark you calendars for upcoming shoots.

I hope everyone has had a great outdoor season and hope to see you at a tournament in the near future. . . . .Ray

SECRETARY:

State Championship was a big success; had 29 shooters with 4 new shooters.  The weather cooperated and a good time was had by all.

Three new records were set.  Steve Manfull shot a 545 field in Youth FS--shattered his old record of 2009; Barry Dorion shot a 357 Field in Traditional and shattered a record that has stood for several years; Judy Doub shot a 479 Field in Master Women FS.  Eric Shepard shot a personal best on 14 targets (275) and finished with a 546.  Congratulations to all and keep on shooting the good scores.

On a sad note, KSAA extends its deepest sympathy to Doug Nihart and his family on the death of his son Luke.  Luke lost control of his ATV while working the Country Stampede in Manhattan; he is also survived by wife Keri and children Hunter and Brooke as well as many other family members.  Our prayers go out to the families.
